How leaders in BJP- a party with a difference are reacting to defeat in recent Lok Sabha polls. After the defeat at the hustings, the BJP leadership is vertically divided over the issue of fixing responsibility and rewarding leaders with plum posts

JASWANT SINGH, last week gave an interview to NDTV, calling for reinventing the party. This came on the day he severely criticised the party leaders during a meeting of the party's core group at Advani's residence. He also wrote a critical letter to the party president.

A few days later, Yaswant Sinha another very senior leader wrote to President of Bharatiya Janata Party' Rajnath Singh, severally criticising his party leadership, charging the leadership with not taking responsibility for the poll debacle in what was seen as criticism of LK Advani and Rajnath Singh and tendering resignations from all the posts, which he was holding. Sinha, who was apparently upset over the party's chief election strategist Arun Jaitley being made the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, said in the letter: "It is difficult to avoid the impression that in the BJP we put a premium on failure."

After acceptance of his resignation Yashwant Sinha today said it felt like getting the "load off my chest" after quitting all the party posts. Jaswant, made it clear that he will remain in the party.It is just like getting the load off my chest," Sinha told PTI here when asked how he felt like after resigning as the party's Vice President and from other posts.He said he was "happy" that his resignation has been accepted.

Jaswant Singh and Sinha are incensed that instead of hauling up chief campaign manager Jaitley, the party leadership - that is, Advani - has rewarded him, making him the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

It appears that both Yaswant sinha and Jaswantsingh were looking for some plum posts in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha respectively to enjoy the perks attendent with those posts and those posts having been assigned to leaders of younger generation are now off-loading their anger and to get awy from collective responsibilty of failure.
