BJP, what about the long-pending promises?
BJP ever since its inception, has been promising the electorate that if voted to power at the Centre, it would fulfil its following promises:

1. Abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution conferring special status on Jammu and Kashmir.

2. Deportation of illegal migrants from Bangladesh who had been indulging in unlawful activities including activities detrimental to the security of India, to the country of their origin.

3. Enactment and enforcement of Uniform Civil Code throughout India.

4. Building of Ram Mandir at Ram Janambhoomi in Ayodhya.

5. Inter-linking of river waters throughout India.

6. Passing of anti-conversion law throughout India

People voted BJP-led Vajpayee Government to power twice but that Government failed to implement any of these measures. The reason given for its failure to do so was that it was a coalition Government and was not in a position to do anything in this regard because of objections from its coalition partners.

However, it was stated that when BJP would come to power on its own, it would fulfill the above promises.

Now, BJP has been voted to power on its own and commands a majority in the Lok Sabha but the Modi Government of BJP has failed to fulfill any of the above promises, thereby dashing the hopes of its supporters who had voted it to power.

Its core vote bank is completely disillusioned with its non-performance. It should, therefore, in its own interest take steps to fulfill its promises made to the people of India.

Moreover, it must break its ties with anti-national PDP in Jammu and Kashmir which had acted like rubbing salt into the wounds of its committed nationalist voters as while allying with PDP, BJP has agreed to forgo its promise of abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution conferring a special status on Jammu and Kashmir.
