BJP state president Jual Oram, after the executive body meet of the party, briefed the press and media informing about the plans and programmes of the party. Corruption would be the major poll issue, he said.
BHARATIYA JANATA Party state president Jual Oram has declared that the party would go alone in the Panchayat election in Orissa.
Moreover, the party will also field candidates in all the 147 assembly seats and 21 parliamentary seats in the state, said Oram, while speaking to the media at concluding day of the 4th state executive meet of the party.
Oram, after the executive body meet of the party, briefed the media informing about the plans and programmes of the party. Corruption would be the major issue. The party would go to people seeking their mandate by exposing the major scams of both the governments - United Progressive Alliance at Centre and Biju Janata Dal in the state.
Both BJD and Congress are our enemies, said Oram while alleging that the Congress secretly is supporting Naveen.
Oram said that scams are being unearthed on a regular basis in the state, and alleged that Naveen government itself is involved in major scams. Even the irrigation department being headed by CM Naveen Patnaik himself is embroiled in corruption, said Oram while adding that an anarchy like situation is prevailing in the state.
He also alleged that the state government has achieved nothing under his regime, adding that the problem of potable water in Berhampur city remains the same even after a decade’s rule by Naveen Patnaik, who represents the district. The national highway is still under construction and the government has failed to deliver on infrastructure, he said.
Oram also alleged that Malkangiri district collector’s abduction was stage managed to give some benefits to the Maoists.
Oram also informed that his party is preparing a vision document and it would be published prior to the polls. Besides, some other political decisions have also been taken at the 4th state executive body meet of the party here at Berhampur.
