The Blackberry outage has seen major faults in the smartphone based email services, with email delays in both North and South America. Internet browsing and Blackberry messenger service were also affected, though the phone service was still working.
ONTARIO BASED Research in Motion was busy Tuesday night, December 22, working on fixing the Blackberry outage that affected services in US, Canada and a host of other countries. The Blackberry outage has seen major faults in the smartphone based email services, with email delays in both North and South America.
The Blackberry outage went on to affect social networking websites accessed through Blackberry. Jamie Ernst, spokesperson for Research in Motion said,“Some Blackberry customers in the Americas are experiencing delays in message delivery. Technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue for those impacted. RIM apologises for any inconvenience experienced by customers.”
Those affected by the Blackberry outage also reported that there were problems in Internet browsing and the Blackberry messenger service, though the telephone service was still working.
A similar outage was seen a week ago, on December 17, when email services offered by Blackberry were affected.
