Crotia's Ivica Kostelic finished second and won Silver with a time of 2:45.25 and Bronze medalist Silvan Zurbriggen of Switzerland finished third in 2:45.32 in Winter Olympics 2010. The defending Olympic champion and another US skier Ted Ligety secured fifth place. Bode Miller became the first American to win three medals in Alpine in a single Olympic.
Bode Miller finished the downhill in seventh place after a mistake and, with a daunting 0.76 seconds to make up, threw caution aside. He has two more chances for medals in giant slalom and slalom at Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010. Unites States stands top on the Medal table with seven gold medals so far.
