Bodh Gaya begins preparations for Buddha Mahotsav
The Bihar Tourism and Gaya Administration has started preparations to host a three-day long Buddha Mahotsav in Bodh Gaya, the land of enlightenment, which will begin from January 17 and continue till 19th.

The Mahotsav will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar in the presence of his Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and DM of Gaya District.

Renowned artists and cultural troupes from India and abroad are going to perform in this three-day programme.

Buddhist monks, religious scholars and officials from different parts of the globe will be attending this colorful event.

The Buddha Mahotsav was launched in the year 1999 by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee.

The event was repackaged by the CM Nitish Kumar after he assumed power in the year 2005.
