There has been a number of low intensity bomb blasts in India in the past, and the same was witnessed in the early hours of Friday in front of a mosque near Nelpettai, a populated locality of Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
As per reports, when the bomb exploded, a two wheeler parked near the mosque was damaged in the explosion. The two wheeler belonged to a person known as Khaja Mohideen, As of now, the police has come forward and stated that there has been no casualties in the explosion, as reported by The Times of India. No one has claimed any responsibility for the explosion as well.
With fear still lingering on the area, it is now manned by the police and has also been cordoned off. As usual, the police is doing their much needed investigation regarding the matter to find clues about the explosion. If the police would find any eye-witnesses, it could play an important role in providing the police with some important leads. The police are working closely with the experts to investigate the matter.
This is not for the first time that Madurai experienced a bomb blast, as it was only in 2012, where a low intensity bomb exploded in a temple complex in Madurai. Just last month as well, a pipe bomb was seized from a shop in Madurai.
