Book "India Connected:Mapping the Impact of New Media" unveiled at Mumbai Conference
The book "India Connected: Mapping the Impact of New Media" was unveiled during the opening session of the International Conference on Disability Communication that commenced on January 9 in Mumbai. The book has been edited by Sunetra Sen Narayan and Shalini Narayan.

The passages from the book published by Sage Publishers were read from the book by the two editors, followed by a panel discussion on disability communication. The book is divided into three parts and has 12 write-ups covering different aspects of the new and emergent media including social media.

According to the editors, the book was born out of a quest for credible information on how new media is impacting India in different areas such as government policies, media ethics and responsibility. Accordingly, the book has been divided into three sections, namely, theoretical perspectives; politics, forcement and the market; and the historical exclusion.

The two editors expressed hope that the book will be useful for the media, research scholars and academicians doing work in the areas of communication and journalism for making it accessible to larger sections of the society.
