Book on Journalism Released
Becoming a good journalist is the dream of a large number of students, who want to make a mark in this field. To cater to the budding journalists, Atlantic Publishers, Delhi, has come out with a book titled 'How to Become a Good Journalist'.
The book is written by Raza Elahi, a journalist, who has spent more than a decade with numerous newspapers including Khaleej Times, The Economic Times , The Pioneer, etc.

Written in simple language, it covers all the aspects that go into the making of a newspaper/magazine - whether it is news selection, news writing, reporting, editing, page-making or meeting the deadlines.

Besides discussing the art of interviewing, nuances of feature-writing and importance of the 5Ws and IH of a news copy, the author of this book has selected around 200 words/expressions and explained their correct usage. The author has also picked up raw copies of reporters and edited them in the chapter ABC of Editing. The chapter Headline Hunter will take the students through interesting aspects of headlines.

Praising the book, Mr KJ Bennychen, Assistant Editor, Pitch, said: “It is a perfect book for the students of journalism”.

According to Elahi, this book will be immensely helpful to students in fune-tuning their editing, reporting and writing skills. It will also refresh the skill-sets of those already in the profession. The book also tells a lot about news selection, common errors, feature-writing and freelance journalism.

Mr Sanjay Singh, Assistant Editor, NDTV.com, described the book as wonderful. “It is a good guide to students of journalism. It can also be useful to the students of any stream and subject,” said Singh. Through a network of around 250 distributors in India, Atlantic Publishers has made the book available in almost all the parts of the country.
