Book review: 'Old Age' - How to live old age productively
The book Old Age is a well researched book that consists of an in-depth overview of the key issues arising from demographic change, besides examining the universal characteristics of ageing and what makes old age unique in the contemporary world.

AUTHORED BY John Vincent, the book deals with the topics like global crises and old age; equity and inter-generational conflicts; identity and consumerism; sickness, death and immortality, etc. Through its six chapters, the book provides a scholarly and comprehensive understanding of old age and various issues related to it.

The book spread into 190 pages, deals with various aspects of personal and social life of a typical old person. According to the author, individual ageing is universal but not so far an ageing population which keeps on changing from time to time.

Published by Routledge, the global publisher of quality academic books, in 2003, the book also provides certain suggestions to live old age productively.

The book has a good number of illustrations in the form of tables and graphics to explain certain issues related to old age. Of course, old people are looking for saner and scientific modes of life. And this book can provide an informed choice for better old age.
