"For small communities, often located in remote, isolated, and poor regions of a country, schools with multigrade classes become a viable alternative. However, while multigrade classrooms address the right to education by providing more students with an education, quality becomes harder for teachers to ensure when they need to work with more than one grade at the same time."

The content of the book deals with the topics like: understanding multigrade teaching; taking advantage of diversity within and between groups; balancing time and multi-tasking with focus on learning; managing a multigrade classroom; adapting the curriculum and lesson plans; developing teaching and learning materials; developing teaching  and active learning materials; practicing self-reflection on your teaching and your students' learning and more similar topics.

This useful hand book is available both in print and electronic versions which can be used for teacher development. The training through this handbook will equip teachers in small schools in remote and isolated areas to realise children's right to education since multigrate teaching strategies encourage children from different backgrounds to learn with the help of their peers and therefore promotes social equity and cohesiveness.
