Book Review: Recent Developments in Educational Journalism
The books on educational journalism are rare and "Recent Developments in Educational Journalism" is historical and cured reproduction of a small book which is deemed as quality writing on the subject.

According to the publisher, an attempt has been made to produce the book free from imperfections of the digitization process. Despite the best efforts, the books may have occasional errors, but that won't impede the reading experience, say the publishers.

This work, earlier published in 1923 and reprinted recently, is in fact the Issue No. 25 of Bulletin of Bureau of Education, (United States) which says that to bring the book back into print is a part of their continuing commitment to the preservation of old printed works worldwide.

Authored by Ryan W. Carson (Will Carson) and published by BiblioBazaar in 2009, the book can be used for the institutes if journalism as well as teacher preparation institutions to teach educational journalism as an allied subject.

The book can be useful since there is a growth in teacher-organizations and many periodicals have special columns on education, writing on the educational topics and issues for general reading are needed.  Training in educational journalism is required to strengthen the visibility of 'educational publicity in the columns of the daily newspaper and in other media of general rather than pedagogical appeal', as suggested.

It is quite true that general public never reads the technical journals on education and most teachers do not have even access to them but they do read newspapers. Preparation of educational journalists for contribution to daily newspapers on issues related to education is needed. The book can work as a suitable reference material for this purpose.
