BookChums interviews Ismita Tandon Dhanker
Speaking to BookChums about the challenges she faced to find a publisher, the author confessed that persistence is what worked in her favour.
THE COMMUNITY for  book lovers, BookChums, recently interviewed debutant author Ismita Tandon Dhanker. Her debut novel “Love On The Rocks” hit the stores in March 2011. A romantic thriller set on a merchant navy ship, it is a story of love and marriage against the background of suspense and play of emotions.
 
Sprinkled with humor, it makes for quite an engaging read. Speaking to BookChums about the challenges she faced to find a publisher, the author confessed, “Persistence is what worked in my favor. People don’t read poetry. But it’s my dream to have a poetry book that would sell like hot cakes,” said Ismita as she revealed her dream to be known as a poetess.
 
Ismita shared a few lighter moments during the interview and gave us a glimpse of her next thriller- Drink and Die. The story highlights a social malady, Alcohol addiction. Ismita graduated from Sophia College, Mumbai, and went on to pursue her Masters in Business Administration. She had a successful stint at the Forex Division of Thomas Cook, Mumbai, before she took up writing. Her debut novel – Love on the Rocks - belongs to the romantic thriller genre. The novel hit the stores in March 2011, it’s about love and marriage against the background of suspense and play of emotions.
