Boy beaten, head shaved, paraded naked for stealing
An eight standard boy working in a tailoring shop run by a female owner was beaten for several hours, accusing him of stealing money from the shop. Traumatised and embarrassed the teenager tried to commit suicide by hanging himself.
FEW DAYS back, a 13 year old boy was beaten black and blue by the owner of a tailoring shop in Dwarka, where the latter worked as an errand boy cum trainee.
The boy who was studying in eight standard in a government school, started working in the tailoring shop run by a female owner. The owner accused the boy of stealing money from the shop, beating him up for several hours. The owner had the boys head clean shaved and had his back tattooed ‘main chor hu’. The torture didn’t end here. The boy was forced to strip and then was paraded naked for hours.
Traumatised and embarrassed the teenager returned home after hours and tried to commit suicide by hanging himself. The family members of the boy reached home in the nick-of-time and saved the boy who was badly agonised by the owner.
Just imagine the torture and pain the boy went through, which propelled the boy to take this drastic step. The boy’s mother claimed that it wasn’t his son who took the money, but it was another boy who also worked at the tailoring shop. The other boy had taken the money from a customer, but had handed over the same to the owner.
The other boy told the owner that he had given the money to the boy and without even bothering to check or trying to find out the truth, the owner pounced upon the poor boy and started beating him up.
The boy’s family had filed a complaint, but within a few hours the family withdrew the case and then refused to speak about the incident. It is being said that the owner and the boy’s family had a meeting and the case was withdrawn. Was the family threatened? Did the owner made up for what she did by handing over a huge sum to money to the boy’s family? Did the boy accept that he had stolen the money?
