BPOs, KPOs to keep diversifying to tap new sectors
Let's not forget, infrastructure plays a very crucial rule while attracting both BPO and KPO investments. Therefore, more and more thrust should be given on creating best of the infrastructures to make both BPO and KPO a resounding success.

THANKS TO BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) and KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) business, countries like India and China are doing well on economic fronts.  India has to do lot of catching up to take full advantage of the vast opportunities existing in these twin sectors of KPO and BPO compared to China.

There seem to be a readily big market available for outsourcing of research activities anything from A to Z.  For example, China has successfully attracted big investments in conducting clinical research on rat,  which would help mankind improving their healthy lifestyles in many ways.  There are about 5,000 rats (including many whites ones) all getting a nice environment to flourish and also getting mineral water to drink.  20,000 researchers have been employed to conduct research in this field alone.  Recruitment was not that easy because technical skills have to be properly matched with skill sets required - due to fast flourishing technical universities in China, Human Resources Department were successful in getting the requisite numbers.  The same research conducted in the US would cost 4 or 5 times more and therefore this job has been outsourced based on cost logistics.

Another example is almost every leading car manufacturer in the world is eyeing for a market in China starting from manufacturing base, supply and distribution and so on.  Number of brands of cars manufactured today in China is ten times bigger than that in India.  Therefore, this market seems to be very lucrative from India’s perspective in the future.

Basing the above two examples, the interpretation of both BPO and KPO can be diversified for inclusion of vast sectors untapped from India’s perspective and after a thorough study involving all sectors A to Z, more opportunities should be created.  Both BPO and KPO constitute a very big pie in the international market and decision makers can do well to do everything to grab a decent size which would help the country move forward rapidly both qualitatively and quantitatively.
