Brand Nitish Kumar will benefit JD(U) in other states too
Nitish has been the lucky mascot for Janta Dal (United) and people in the other states, too, have started acknowledging the fact that the government in Bihar has been doing a great job for which Nitish Kumar and his team deserves accolades.
AS THE age-old adage goes 'action speaks louder than words', Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to put assets of all government servants in the public domain, has been hailed by all right thinking people who feel that in present times greater transparency is needed in order to put a check on the rising corruption among public servants.

By declaring assets of government servants, the Bihar government has taken the first step towards making the conduct of all its employees transparent and open for public assessment. This was one of the promises made by Nitish Kumar during the election campaign in Bihar that his government would bring greater transparency in the functioning and he would see development of the state take the driver’s seat instead of corruption.

Nitish Kumar’s untiring and sustained efforts to defeat corruption in government departments in Bihar are not only bringing him laurels from all quarters of the society but his dedication towards working for the people’s welfare and his commitment to turn Bihar into a developed state in a planned way, have already started yielding results.

Nitish Kumar’s governance in Bihar would surely benefit his party Janta Dal (United) in the elections now outside Bihar. His impeccable policy making decisions and spotless image today are considered to be the biggest assets for his party.

So can the Janta Dal (United) become an option for the people of Uttar Pradesh in the coming elections to replace the present Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government? “Yes, why not,” said Subhash Pathak, general secretary JD (U), Uttar Pradesh, “we can be a good alternative and people have seen the performance of our party in Bihar and if we contest elections together with the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) as happened there, we can write history here too.”

Though formal declaration is yet to come from the BJP side but going by some of the statements that have come so far from the senior leaders of the party, it would be better if the BJP join hands with the JD (U) and contest polls as they did in Bihar. This will help in checking cross-voting and it will benefit both the partners who are allies under the banner of National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Now how far the Nitish card can brighten the prospects of JD (U) as a party in the upcoming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and how far the coalition between the two i.e. JD (U)-BJP can benefit the NDA in Uttar Pradesh, time will tell but one thing is for sure that going together in the polls will certainly benefit the alliance NDA in combating the opposition parties like the BSP or Samajwadi Party (SP) which are very strong in their own regional political bastion.
