'Branding' gets personal!
Personal Branding is no more seen as something applicable only of the celebrities. Individuals from all walks of life who are keen on making a mark for themselves in this fiercely competitive world are turning to personal branding.

On a lazy Sunday morning when most people were yet to get out of their beds, a group of enthusiastic and inspiring learners had gathered to get trained on the tricks and traps of personal branding.

There were bankers, women entrepreneurs, sports entrepreneurs, IT professionals and students who had realized that in this world where human attention span in decreasing and the flow if information is ever increasing, it is important to brand themselves in the best way in order to outshine the competition.

The workshop which was captioned as 'Pathway to Success' happened on 24th Aug, 2014 and covered all the important points one needs to know about effective personal branding.

The facilitators, Akshaya Kawle and Abhishek Ratna are Image Consultants who are passionate about making a difference in the life of people by empowering them with the correct tools to get success in this fiercely competitive world.

The participants walked away with invaluable insights on personal branding.

Here are few important tips on personal branding covered in the workshop:

  • Pay attention to your body language. In a professional set up always maintain a straight posture and good eye contact.

  • Dress as per your role, goals and occasion.

  • Use the colors that are appropriate for the occasion and suits you the best.

  • Keep a track of your online presence.

  • Transparency and authenticity are essential.

  • Build your "web" by engaging, following and leading on social media platforms.

  • Create your personal brand identity.

  • Be a leader or an expert in your field.

  • Find a unique positioning.

  • Think "give to get" when trying to connect with others in the social media world.

  • Think before you post or send - Treat all posts like they'll live forever (aka a newspaper) and make sure they won't be taken out of context

  • Engage and interact with those in your network and request recommendations/endorsements.
