SPEEDY RACER Brian Vickers is unfortunately out of the remaining NASCAR season as he is having blood clots in his lungs and left leg. Vickers was recently hospitalized due to chest pains when he was in Washington, D.C.
Vicker in response said to the media that he can race on blood thinners but he cannot crash and he smiled. He was in his seventh season in the Sprint Cup Series but now his dreams of winning the championship this time ended. Hopefully he will be back in 2011.
Due to this incident Vickers missed last weekend’s race at Dover. After coming back from Washington, he was again sent to the hospital in North California. After few days doctor suggested for a treatment and this will not allow him to race for the rest of the season.
"This is what I love to do, this is my life," Vickers said Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he made his first public appearance since his ordeal began last Wednesday. "This is what I love to do, and I fully intend on doing it again."
Vickers is now getting treated with blood thinners and his doctors are not allowing him to race as there are always chances of a crash when one is racing. Dr. Steven Limentani of Carolina Hematology Oncology said, "It is not advisable for him to race while he's on blood thinners"
