David Cameron, who leads the Tories asserted that the ruling Labour Party had lost its mandate to government the country.
However, Labour Party lead by Prime Minster Gordon Brown is hoping to get into some sort of a coalition with Liberal Democrats, who have performed reasonably well in the elections.As per election analysts, Labour may be able to get around 316-317 seats, which will not enable it retain power, unless it manages to cobble together a coalition. Although the Labour has suffered a setback, but under British rule the sitting PM has the right to form a coalition. Tory leader David Cameron has said that the results clearly send the message that Britain wanted change and desired a new leadership. He promised that he would put the national interest first and deliver a strong, stable, decisive and good government.
