British Open 2010, stakes high on Tiger Woods

THE 139th British Open has begun and it will give golf lovers a treat at the famous Old Course from today onwards. The stakes this year will be the precious Claret Jug. The tournament started off on a good note with John Daly, who won the championship fifteen years back, started with seven of the first eleven holes on Thursday to climb ahead on the leaders board.

The latter will be cashing in on the opportunity of playing in St Andrews as he has already won it twice. The stakes are equally high on golfing legend Tiger Woods whose fans believe that he will win this year's British Open 2010. Justin Rose of England will be playing the first two rounds with Tiger Woods. The three day championship that will start from July 15 to July 18 will see the participation of many golfing legends like Phil Mickelson, world number three Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, who won the US Open last month. The other sought after players are 21 year old Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, defending champion Stewart Cink, Luke Donald, Paul Casey, Ian Poulter and Tom Watson. The British Open 2010 will be telecast live on ESPN in the United States.
