Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack dead, cause unknown
Nearly five months after the death of Brittany Murphy, the actress' screenwriter husband Simon Monjack, 39, was found dead at his Hollywood Hills home on Sunday.
NEARLY FIVE months after the death of Brittany Murphy, the actress’ screenwriter husband Simon Monjack, 39, was found dead at his Hollywood Hills home on Sunday. The police authorities said there were no signs of foul play and Monjack appeared to have died of a heart attack. The medical examiner confirmed drugs were recovered.
Police said in a statement that Monjack was found unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at 9.45 PM on Sunday. “It appears to be natural. There were some prescription drugs found that belonged to Monjack and will have an ongoing investigation. The cause of death is pending. We will have in autopsy in the next day or so. And pending toxicology, we will be releasing results once we get all those tests back.”
Monjack was diagnosed for heart problem, his mother Linda Monjack told a Magazine that her son was, “unwell, and the doctors are carrying out tests. On whether he has a apparent heart problem it is not nearly for me to say, you must ask him, but yeas, there have been health problems in the past. I believe it is common knowledge and it has been in the press that he had a slight heart attack a week from Brittany’s death coming back from Puerto Rico.”
Monjack was born to Jewish parents in Hillingdon , Greater London. Monjack directed, produced and wrote ‘Two Days’ and ‘Nine Lives’ in 2000.he received story credit for the 2006 ‘Factory Girl’ about Edie Sedgwick. In 2007, Monjack was slated to direct a film adaption of D.M Thomas’s novel about Sigmund Freud, The White Hotel, with Brittany Murphy, byt never materialized.
The Clueless star, Brittany Murphy aged 32, died of cardiac arrest on December 20 in the same Hollywood Hills house. She died of fatal combination of Pneumonia, anemia and prescription drugs. These drugs were prescribed in Monjack’s name.
In May2007, Brittany Murphy married Simon in Los Angeles. For the last three years, Murphy, her mother, Simon lived together lived together in the same house.
