BSE resumes working after technical glitch halts trading
Trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange halted for 150 minutes from 12 noon to 2.30 pm. Earlier, the trading was closed for one hour, from 12 noon to 1:00 pm, but later the restart time was extended to 1.30 pm.
THE BOMBAY Stock Exchange (BSE) halted trading due to a technical glitch on the first day of trading in November. The BSE website informed, "Due to technical problem faced by members in trade confirmation, it has been decided to close the market till 2.30 PM today. All pending orders would be cancelled and returned."

Trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange halted for 150 minutes from 12 noon to 2.30 pm. Earlier, the trading was closed for one hour, from 12 noon to 1:00 pm, but later the restart time was extended to 1.30 pm. Once again it extended by an hour and the exchange resumed trading at 2.30 pm, one hour before the scheduled closure.

It was the first time that trading was halted in the history of Indian stock markets. However, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) continued its trading. Earlier in the day, Nifty touched a high of 6127.45. At noon, the BSE Sensex was trading 336 points higher at 20,368, just before trading was halted.

ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Siemens, Infosys Technologies, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Hindalco, Tata Power, DLF, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Larsen & Toubro are among the top gainers of the day.
