The fixed-line operator has launched the new tariff system wherein all STD calls from BSNL landline to landline on any network will be charged as local call.
BHARAT SANCHAR Nigam Limited (BSNL) has gifted their 34 million subscribers a facility by which STD calls from the fixed line network to landlines will be charged as local calls. The pulse will be calculated for every three minutes as opposed to the one minute pulse rate earlier.
The new BSNL facility is effective from 01.12.2010 and with this launch the operator does away with the STD tariff for landline customers.
Prior to this facility, all landline customers didn’t have STD feature in the connection unless specified by submitting papers to the office and other procedural steps. Despite of the mobile phone revolution being a hit, there are around 34 million landline subscribers and this facility will further popularise the fixed-line operator. These revised rates from today will be automatically available to all BSNL fixed line consumers across tariff plans but are not applicable in PCOs and for calls to special services.Having around 94 percent share in revenue terms, connecting 602 Districts, 7330 cities/towns and more than 5.8 lakh villages in India, BSNL can be called the lifeline of the country. The BSNL subscriber can get information through customer care center in there areas for further details for any clarification on different schemes and packages.
