Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) tied up with Bharat Berry Technologies, a mobile communication service on Monday to provide push e-mail service to its GSM mobile subscribers of all circles in the country.
ONE OF the largest Indian cellular service providers with over 90 million subscribers, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), tied up with Bharat Berry Technologies, a mobile communication service on Monday to provide push e-mail service to its GSM mobile subscribers of all circles in the country. Earlier, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) teamed with Bharat Berry services to provide push email services for all its pre and post paid mobile subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai.
Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL, R.K. Upadhyay said that the partnership between two firms will provide an easy-to-use, cost-effective solution to its customers for the mobile push e-mail requirements. Chief executive officer of Bharat Berry, Ajay Data said that with Bharat Berry, without having a PC or laptop customers can still be assured that their data is in a secure place.

The service will provide existing users to stay connected to their e-mails, calendar and contacts. Push e-mail service will be available for all the BSNL users who are carrying the handset which is compatible with BlackBerry, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile and J2ME.
Push e-mail provides an always on capability by which new e-mails are actively transferred. The mobile communication service Bharat Berry works with most of the mobile phones and provides an advanced push mail with over the air backup of the user's contacts, tasks, calendar and notes. Push e-mail service will be available for both 2G as well as 3G customers. Customers will have to pay Rs. 80 per month for the combo pack enabling access to all services including e-mails and Personal Information Manager ( PIM) sync, whereas users will be charged Rs 50 per month for the individual services.
