BSP supremo Mayawati to campaign for Dharampal Rathi in Gurgaon today
Mayawati, who heads Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is all set to spearhead BSP's campaign at Hisar and Gurgaon in Haryana today. Mayawati's first meeting will be held at a ground in front of Kabir hostel, Rajgarh road in Hisar district, while the second meeting has been scheduled at HUDA Gymkhana Club ground at Sector 29 in Gurgaon.

She will be campaigning for Dharampal Rathi, BSP's Lok Sabha candidate from Gurgaon. Around five lakh people are expected to attend the meeting at Gurgaon. BSP kick-started its campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections 2014 on March 22 at Ranchi in Chattisgarh.

BSP unveiled the names of their candidates last weekend, and has fielded 17 candidates from the SC category, 15 from the BC category, 19 Muslims, 21 Brahmins and 8 candidates from the Thakur community, as reported by The Times of India.

In 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the BSP candidate Zakir Hussain gave a tough competition to BJP candidate Rao Inderjit Singh in Gurgaon. If one were to add Chautala-loyalist Jat votes to that of Meo Muslims, Hussain could give stiff competition to Yogendra Yadav and three-time MP Inderjit Singh this time also.

So, with the lok sabha elections not far off, interesting times lie ahead for politics in Gurgoan as well.
