The disgraced former coach of Kolkata Knight Riders, John Buchanan has touched various controversial issued pertaining to international cricket and Twenty20 in his book titled 'The Future of Cricket: The Rise of Twenty20'
AUSTRALIANS, IT seems, are very much annoyed with the Indians and the increasing amount of racial allegations by Indians against them. This is quite evident by the latest war of words started by a former Australian Cricketer John Buchanan against illustrious present and former cricketers of India.
The disgraced former coach of Kolkata Knight Riders has touched various controversial issued pertaining to international cricket and Twenty20 in his book titled 'The Future of Cricket: The Rise of Twenty20'.
John Buchanan who suggested multi captain theory for Twenty20 has attacked international cricketers of the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Mark Ramprakash, Kevin Peterson and others harshly. In addition to this, he has also criticised leading Indian industrialist Vijay Mallya, who is also the owner of Bangalore IPL team.
Referring to former Indian cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar, who is also holding diverse key portfolio in ICC and BCCI, John wrote any change or development that needs to be incorporated in the IPL, which he has suggested was out rightly referred to Sunil Gavaskar, he said, “What this means is that any ideas that affect the way Twenty20 might be played are referred to a committee chaired by a person who is blinkered by bias and tradition.”
The high profile former coach of Kolkata Knight Riders criticiaed Harbhajan Singh by writing, “Harbhajan is good at lighting the fire and then finding appropriate means to camouflage his action.”
He also didn’t mind using harsh language for flamboyant Yuvraj Singh, he said, “Yuvraj tries to be a modern-day Ganguly, but doesn’t have Ganguly’s charisma or dignity.”
John also didn’t spared leading Indian industrialist Vijay Mallya, he wrote, “He (Vijay Mallya) didn’t allow the players to play and the coach, which is why he employed them in the first place.”
Whatever may be the reason behind this sudden attack on Indian cricketers but it is proved beyond doubt that when you fail, you look for reasons to save your skin - this is what John uncle is doing.
.I don't understand that why comments from a person who never played any test match in his life have been taken so seriously by our media.
In fact by giving so much publicity they are either willingly or unwillingly promoting his book in India and make him rich which is his real intention behind writing absurdly sly remarks about our cricketers.Having seen India from close corner the man knows that India being a country of 1.2 billion people is a great market for his apparently silly book by creating curiousty about their cricketers consider as gods.
