IT LOOKED like a scene from a Hollywood flick as a bus driver went on a rampage and mowed down everything that came his way. It took policemen half an hour to overpower the driver of the government bus that drove on the wrong side of the Pune-Solapur road. In the melee, nine people got killed and more than a dozen others got injured.

 

Frustrated policemen even fired at the bus while chasing the seemingly-disturbed driver, known by his single name Manu. Eyewitnesses revealing the horrifying situation to Television Journalists told about the fear on the street as Manu ran the bus over the children and adults alike.

 

Catching the pedestrians and the commuters unawares, Manu brought the bus at a high speed from the wrong side on the Pune-Solapur road and if PTI reports are to be believed the driver was mentally unstable but police has refused to comment as they carry out the investigation.

 

YouTube footage showed the ambulances carrying the injured to the hospitals while frightened pedestrians were running away from the spot.

 

It would take time for the police to find out, why Manu played with the lives of hundreds of people on the street?  It would only be done, after Manu himself spills the beans behind his gruesome act. The 30-year-old driver has been arrested on murder charges. Was he on drugs, was he frustrated with his life or personal problems, are some of the questions that come to one’s mind after witnessing the chaos, Manu created on the street.
