Butter and butter oils may be harmful to heart patients
Janmashtami is a festival to spread love and not eat butter, butter oils and trans fats, and therefore those suffering from heart problems should avoid these items on this day of festivity, and not get carried away.

On tea spoon full of butter contains 25 mg cholesterol. Butter and butter oil contains saturated fats which can be harmful to the heart. Any fat of plant in origin has no cholesterol. Food of only animal in origin contains cholesterol. Butter and butter oil being animal in origin are high in cholesterol and saturated fats.

Fat solid at room temperature are saturated and liquid at room temperature are unsaturated. It’s the saturated and that Trans saturated fats which increases the bad LDL cholesterol. 1% rise in total and or bad LDL cholesterol raise the chances of heart attack by 2%.

Trans fat is equally bad. Hydrogenated oils available as vanaspati are the trans fats and are worse than butter. They increase the bad LDL cholesterol and reduce the good HDL cholesterol. 1% reduction in good HDL cholesterol increases the chances of heart attack by 3%.

Chocolate is equally bad as it contains refined sugar and can increase insulin resistance and makes one prone to get diabetes and abdominal obesity.
