Can India force a draw in Sydney?
Yes, they can - if they put their heads down and decide to go in for a totally new type of strategy - the strategy of notching up centuries in singles and twos. It could be a real headache for Clarke & Co if Dhoni's men follow this route.

INDIA NOW has two full days in which to bat out the overs and save the Test match which appears to be gradually going out of their hands – unless, of course, the rain gods intervene.

Determination is the need of the hour –play responsible innings and show to the world that Indians are real fighters. Heroics can come later.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has made a beginning in the right direction - he scored only 8 runs in 42 balls in an hour at the crease. That is the spirit that will pay dividends.

We have seen records of the fastest century in ODI and T-20 matches – let us now turn our attention to set a record for the slowest century – preferably in ones and twos. OK – a couple of threes could be acceptable but no fours or sixes. Let us change our mindset and re-learn the basic philosophy of Test cricket - ability to remain at the crease for as long as possible.

Loose balls will certainly come – punish them. But – do not get punished by chasing mirages. That is the message that should be drilled into the minds of the remaining batsmen.
