The state is reeling under power crisis, then there is lack of health facilities in the rural areas for which a lot has to be done and for which one needs big funds. The question is from where will Banerjee get those funds?
IN INDIA it is politics after cricket which can be discussed and debated endlessly and is supposed to be the most sought after subject among the people of this nation which decided to adopt a democratic model on its independence in 1947, and since then it is this politics and elected leadership which decide the future of this nation by formulating policies and programmes that guide over 100 million people.
Again it is politics after cricket which works as an adhesive to bind people of different ethnic traditions from north to south and find its place from a roadside kiosk to luxurious apartments. Whether it’s urban class or rural class, politics draw people from all walks of life and thus bring different mindsets to a common ideological platform that has been created by different political parties in this nation to achieve their political goal of forming the government at the centre and in different states of our republic. Now as the assembly elections are round the corner in West Bengal, all eyes are set on Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is also the leader of All India Trinamool Congress popularly known as Trinamool Congress. The people of West Bengal feel that her party would play a crucial role in the assembly elections and the people of Bengal are looking forward to her party victory thinking that it might change the fortunes of their state which need a change in the guard as people feel the rule of Communist Party of India (Marxist) has stretched too long now, and time has come to give some other party a chance.
Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has a good chance of coming to power this time in West Bengal as the party has done exceedingly good in the recently concluded civic body elections in Kolkata that were held in 2010 in which the party bagged 97 seats out of 141. In 2009 general elections too, the performance of Trinamool Congress was not bad when the party alone won 19 seats for the Lok Sabha and in allies it got 26 seats. Again the people of West Bengal feel that TMC should join hands with the Indian National Congress (INC) in order to win the assembly elections comfortably and they can form their government in the state. The TMC is already an ally of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre and there should be no problems in the seat sharing formula in the state.Though people feel there are some differences going on between TMC leader Mamata Banerjee and Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi which could harm the political interest of both the TMC and the Congress in West Bengal. Many political analyst and thinkers feel that the Congress should give more seats to the TMC rather than gong alone in the elections as that would only benefit the CPI (M). But the biggest question remains the same will Mamata Banerjee be able to bring any drastic change in West Bengal after elections? West Bengal is sick and it needs surgery and not sweet pills that can cure it from the stage where it has reached today.Poverty, unemployment, crime, infrastructure and the industrial growth of the state is also not impressive at all. Her party’s stand on the Singur movement in 2006 which forced the Tata group chairman Ratan Tata to shift his dream project of Nano car to Gujarat in 2008 after Mamata Banerjee sat on a hunger strike. This also came under severe criticism from several industrialists. If her party will keep on following anti-industry policy, how she can promise of bringing prosperity to her state? The state is reeling under power crisis, then there is lack of health facilities in the rural areas for which a lot has to be done and for which one needs big funds. The question is from where will Banerjee get those funds which can bring a sea change in the affairs of West Bengal? Then there are problems from the illegal migrants from Bangladesh who have been given fake ration cards and many have been able to enroll themselves in the election voting list as pointed out by several political parties time and again, a charge which the CPI (M) leadership has always denied.Amidst high hopes and expectations from the people of West Bengal, it will be a great political challenge for Mamata Banerjee and her party Trinamool Congress (TMC) to win the trust of people in ballot and get to power in Kolkata for which she always strived.

Didi Mamata Banerjee would be mother of Bengal. We are waiting for this time. She should take care for every body.
Change is required in West Bengal. The knowledge of the knowledge hub of the country is being unutilized or misused since long back. Education and Health are exteremely facing problems in Bengal whereas the best Doctors, Scietists and Profs, of the country are still from this part of the country. But Smt Mamata Banerjee can not change the situation, she dont have dedicated leaders, she is popular because CPIM is unpopular. In fact, Congress, BJP are dettached from peoiple in Bengal. So it is only CPIM, who can brong the change. They will have to realize it, they will have to work on that for the interest of the state. The people of the state are really unlucky. I am one of them.
