CARVA, A student's organisation formed by Pune's students, on Monday (March 8), celebrated International Women's Day by taking out a peaceful march from Deccan Corner to Paduka Chowk on F C Road.

There were about 35 students belonging to different colleges from Pune, who participated in the march. They were holding placards on which the rights of the women were written and an appeal was made to the public to respect the women community.

The students greeted the women community on the eve by giving them a rose and a brief write-up on the rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution and various other laws for women. The students also interacted with the general public on their way and made them aware of the important role that a woman plays in one's life.

They were taking messages on a cardboard from the public on different issues relating to women and what they feel on the day about women? The students were being accompanied by the local police personals. All was a peaceful affair and the efforts of the students were highly appreciated.
