Cash rewards keep piling on for PV Sindhu, have already crossed Rs 10 crore
Ever since PV Sindhu has become the first Indian to win a silver medal in badminton in Olympics, rewards and appreciations have continued to pour in for her from all corners of the country.

State agencies and sports bodies all across the country are queuing up to reward the 21-year old player from Hyderabad. The total cash rewards announced so far for her have already crossed Rs 10 crore.

On Saturday, Chief Minister of her home state Telangana, K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a cash reward of Rs 5 crore for Sindhu along with providing her with a 1,000 sq yards site for construction of a house in Hyderabad. The Telangana CM has also announced a cash prize of Rs 1 crore for Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand's badminton academy. Sindhu has also been offered a government job.

Even before Telangana could announce its reward, Andhra Pradesh announced a slew of rewards for PV Sindhu, including a cash reward of Rs 3 crore.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu said, "We will give her 1,000 sq yds of house site in the state's new capital Amaravati and also a Group-1 officer post in the state government. She can choose the post she wants. The government will also award Rs 50 lakh to Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand for mentoring her."

Sometime earlier, the Delhi government had also announced cash prizes of Rs 2 crore for Sindhu and Rs 1 crore for Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi Malik.

Sindhu is also due to receive Rs 50 lakh from the Badminton Association of India and another Rs 50 lakh from the Madhya Pradesh government.

A top jewellery showroom in Vijaywada has already shown interest in signing up Sindhu as their brand ambassador. Several builders are also lining up to gift her free flats in their projects in the IT  corridor. Auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra will also gift her an SUV of her choice. This is just the start for Sindhu, and she deserves every bit of it.
