The Common Admission Test (CAT) to the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIM)and other premier Business schools turned out to be a major fiasco as servers crashed across India on Saturday, when the test was administered to the students online for the first time.

CAT 2009 was taken today as thousands of students across the country, however, their aspirations have suffered because of the failure of the computer servers to hold on as the first online CAT exam was delivered to the students.

This year around 50, 000 students will appear for the CAT 2009 in Delhi, while the test is being held in 32 cities between November 28 and December 7.

Entry to IIMs in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Kozhikode and Shillong is determined by CAT score.

CAT online will work and these are minor glitches and the problems in paper would be resolved with time. It happens when the paper is held for the first time online

the entire online experience is a farce, students are kept waiting for servers to start and then asked to leave
