TOO MUCH involvement of several Union Ministers in IPL matches and cricket-management ignoring their ministerial duty towards their assigned departments, raises big question-mark in providing these useless ‘white elephants’ costly facilities, pay, perks, accommodation etc on government-expense burdened on public because of compulsion of alliance-politics. Only some strict norms can save this great nation from selfish politics of such politicians:
1. No minister (or even a Parliamentarian or state-legislator) may be allowed to hold any post in any private or government body, because being an elected representative or minister in itself is a big task requiring more than full-time attention. 2. Blackmail politics of alliances and splinter parties should be done away by electing Prime Minister/Chief Ministers by secret and compulsory vote of all members of lower House through Electronic Voting Machines on nominations signed by at least one-third members of lower House. Such an elected leader may be removed by same process but with compulsion to name alternate leader in the same motion.
