Caught on CCTV: Daughter-in-law brutally assaults mother-in-law, arrested
A chilling video went viral on social media, in which a women could be seen who is brutally beating her mother-in-law. This incident took place at Bijnore district in Uttar Pradesh on January 5. The video was recorded through CCTV, which was secretly installed in the house by the victim's son, Sandeep Jain.

In the CCTV footage that has surfaced one can see Sangeeta Jain attacking her helpless mother-in-law Rajrani Jain, who is paralysed. In the video she is beating her 70-year-old mother in law with stones and rope. She slaps her and then drags her out of the bed.

Reportedly it was not the first time that Sangeeta harassed her mother-in-law. She has done it on many other occasions also. Once she even tried to give the current of water heating rod.

Victimized mother-in-law said, "My daughter-in-law attacked me brutally. That day she came from kitchen and started slapping me. She almost strangled me to death. She even hit my head with brick. I don't know why she did this. I never interfered in anything happening in the family," as reported by Zee news.

The family of Sandeep Jain (husband of Sangeeta Jain) is in a helpless situation since he married Sangeeta. Sangeeta always used to behave unusually and beat the family members, this made Sandeep to file a divorce case, which is currently going on. After this divorce case, Sangeeta lodged a report of dowry harassment and marital rape cases against her husband. If anyone tried to help the family, they were threatened of rape cases against them by her.

Vipasha Jain (sister of Sandeep Jain) could not bare the atrocities on her family and took the help of Kundan Srivastava, a social activist. Srivastava asked the family to install a secret camera in their house and when Sangeeta was caught red handed beating her mother-in-law in the CCTV footage. He then posted the video on his Facebook page in which he has appealed the chief minister of UP Akhilesh Yadav to take action against the women.

After the issue became viral because of the CCTV footage, the Police reached the victim's house yesterday night and booked Sangeeta Jain at 5 am in the morning today.

This particular incident points out towards strong laws, which are made for women's benefit, but are strongly misused also. The Government should take strict action towards such women, and should set an example that law is not biased.
