CBI quite often dances to tune of political rulers at centre, a bitter fact even endorsed by former CBI chiefs and observed by courts. Country’s premier investigating agency also takes U-turn on cases involving politicians according to changed requirement of political rulers controlling CBI.
The best possible way is to appoint CBI chief by consensus between Prime Minister and Opposition Leader in the manner Information Commissioner and heads of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) are appointed.
