I do agree that all encounters either genuine or fake must be investigated. People involved in fake encounters must be booked irrespective of the fact whether the encounters were against criminals/terrorists! But investigating encounters selectively in one state and try to drag political opponents is really a dangerous issue! CBI is under the central government (Not to forget the caged parrot term!). So, even if in such condition the CBI says that there is lack of prosecutable evidence, then it must be considered that both Modi and Shah were subjected to Congress’s vendetta politics!
Kapil Sibal lost his credibility, when he invented zero loss theory on 2G scam. But in these encounter cases, everybody has some doubt, that there might be something where both Shah and Modi could be at fault! But today’s submission by the CBI now clears the smoke and only exposes the Congress’s dirty tactic!
However, I would actually demand that all encounters in every state must be investigated and if there are some fake encounters, accused should be booked. In a democracy and in a civilized country, fake encounters are in fact a horrible crime, despite the victim being any alleged terrorist or a criminal.
There must be some decency and limit in politics. You can’t have a vendetta politics at all. The Janata party during 1977-80 used vendetta politics against Indira Gandhi only to be rejected by public in 1980.
Also Kapil Sibal needs to answer on his claim of clinching evidence. He is a senior lawyer and must know, what clinching evidence means. If he doesn’t able to answer, he must be booked for defaming political opponents and misleading the country.
