CCS was ranked based on several indicators of resources, utilization, outputs and impact. The rankings were first initiated in 2006, and CCS has consistently featured among the highest ranked centres of excellence globally, based on not just our research and analysis, but also on “our engagement with policy makers and ability to influence policy decisions”.
CCS’ high ranking, compared to most of the 269 Indian think tanks surveyed in the study, is based on its multi-sector, multi-disciplinary approach, spanning research and analysis, policy reform, proofs of concept, and advocacy in education, livelihoods, governance, and rule of law.
The 2012 Global Go To Think Tanks Rankings report is based on a worldwide survey of 1,900 scholars, journalists, policy makers and peers from 120 countries. The evaluation process is a mix of peer and expert nomination, and ranking and final review by Expert Panels.
