Celebrating the National Hat Day today!
National Hat Day is the day for Americans to wear funky, funny, stylish, even not-so-stylish hats. All that matters is that you don a hat and don't be the odd one out!

YEAH YOU guessed it right! National Hat Day is the day for Americans to wear funky, funny, stylish, even not-so-stylish hats. All that matters is that you don a hat and don’t be the odd one out!

Okay, point taken. But what else do you do on National Hat Day. Now if you go by the site ehow.com with their tag line “How To Do Just About Everything”, there are primarily five things one can do today:

1) Wear a hat!
2) Make funny hats out of construction paper.
3) Take everyone to buy a new hat.
4) Change hats all day, or just wear your favorite on throughout. Ask everyone to share why their favorite hat is so special to them.
5) Talk about famous hats, like Abe Lincoln's or Groucho Marx.

So this is what ehow.com says about the day. But as to the “most basic question” (a la Edward Cullen) that where and when did it all start, there seems to be no definite answer! It is believed that the Headwear Association, formerly known as the Traveling Hat Salesmen’s Association, might have got something to do with it. But there are no testimonies to prove it. Who cares about it anyway as long as people are having fun celebrating the day?

Undoubtedly, the best thing about hats is that they have the ability to compliment anyone and everyone, be it the curly haired, the long haired, the oh so straight haired, the short cropped, the baldies, the baldies-in-waiting, everybody!  So this gives you a super excuse to celebrate the day and look more than just trendy.

So, did you just say that the name National Hat Day, especially with the prefix ‘National,’ sounds like a big responsibility on your ‘head’? You bet!
