Celebs spread message of early breast cancer detection
Online portal Bestylish.com teamed up with Elle Magazine to spread awareness about breast cancer. At the red carpet of the event, leading ladies and actors came forward to be part of the noble cause. Shilpa Shetty, Kiran Kher, Gul Panag, Sangeeta Bijlani, British actress Hazel Eye kees and Preeti Jhangiani were some prominent faces seen in the event.
SHILPA SHETTY first thanked the Bestylish.com and Elle Magazine, saying that 'awareness is an important aspect in any kind issue'. “I worked a lot for HIV/AIDS and today it is breast cancer, if you see the numbers they are only increasing and there is no sign of decrease. This is a very unfortunate thing and the problem behind this is the lifestyle
changes that are taking place nowadays.”
Sending a message to all working women, Shetty said: “Health should be the most important criteria, you have to value yourselves. So, please go and have your checkups done.”
Gul Panag has been a prominent member of such social awareness programs for a long time. “Cancer is a kind of disease which we don't understand, and when coming to breast cancer it has the highest mortality rate. The only solution and only prevention of breast cancer in a way is its early detection. If detected in its early stages, breast cancer is hundred percent curable,” Panag said.
According to NNIs, she also added that awareness and early detection are the most important things in the breast cancer treatments.
