Central Advisory Board of Education meeting held, recommendations sought to improve educational standards
Two-day agenda-based 65th Meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE), presided over by Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar was held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on January 15 and 16 to discuss various emergent issues related to education in the country.

The meeting was also attended by other Union Ministers Maneka Gandhi, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and Satya Pal Singh.

In the meeting, Javadekar said that education was one of main national agendas that empowered alike the individual, family, society and the nation.

He informed the participants about the initiative and steps undertaken by the HRD Ministry related to learning outcomes, academic depository, digital initiatives, examination reforms, capacity building of teachers, etc., to strengthen education.

The meeting resulted into a series of suggestions and recommendations on child rights, right to education, education of differently abled learners, value education, inclusive education, skill development, role of private education, quality of education, pre-primary education, girls' education, equitable education, e-learning, education of school dropouts, curriculum load, free and compulsory general education.

Also, issues of skilling and technical education in school and higher education system; improving the quality and accountability in higher education;  education sector requirements of Jammu and Kashmir, teaching of English, digital initiatives in higher education were discussed.

However, educators, teachers, parents and other stakeholders in education are wondering which recommendations will accepted and wilfully implemented!
