There are quality players in both the sides, Sixers and Titans, who will be playing the second semi-final of the Champions League T20 later today at Centurion in South Africa. The winner meets Highveld Lions in the finals of the Champions League T20 championship for 2012.
FROM THE time the 2012 Champions League T20
kicked off, Sydney Sixers has been tagged as one of the favouroites to lift the title. As of now, they have stayed true to their favourites tag with four wins from four matches. They are scheduled to play the second semi-final later today at Centurion against the Titans, who have equally looked impressive with only a single loss in the tournament.
Sydeny Sixers would miss the services of their main player, Shane Watson
, who played an important role with the bat and ball. But, this team is not going to be bogged down with Watson's absence, as they have good players in their ranks, who can rise to the occasion and earn a name for themselves. They have some names who have proved themselves in the shortest format of the game such as Michael Lumb, Brad Haddin, Steve Smith, Nathan McCullum and other upcoming youngsters such as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. It is a great chance for some of the youngsters to knock at the IPL
franchisees' door by putting up a good perfromance.
The Titans are not devoid of quality players either, as their team also comprises of players who can stand up against the Sixers. The Sixers are aware of their biggest threat - AB De Villiers, who has the ability to change the game on its head. Apart from De Villiers, Jacques Rudolph, Paul Harris, Martin Jaarsveld, Alfonso Thomas, Van Der Merwe are some names that the Sixers also need to fear. The Titans would receive good support from the local fans, who would want to see their team do well.
With the quality of players in action, it is not easy to choose a favourite between the two. It is a match, where neutral fans would enjoy the most. The winner of the match is set to meet Highveld Lions, who have already booked their place in the finals after defeating Delhi Daredevils in the first semi final. If the Titans win their match, it is going to be an all South African final affair, which would mean that the title would be lifted for the first time by a South African T20 team.
