Chandigarh to host conference on "Psychological Well Being: The Concerns and Development"
The Second International and fourth Indian Psychological Science Congress (IPSC-15) of National Association of Psychological Sciences (NAPS) is going to be held on the theme "Psychological Well Being: The Concerns and Development" at Department of Psychology, P.G. Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh, on October 8 and 9 this year.
According to the organisers of the conference, the IPSC-15 will provide a platform for stimulating scholars from home and abroad to debate and come up with strategies appropriate for well-being by becoming mental capitalists by investing in our brains. The conference is being partnered by World Without Anger (WWA) organisation this year.

"Psychological well-being is a multi-dimensional concept deals with emotions and feelings of an individual. One may have everything - income, environment, culture, community, health, etc., but none of these can be fruitful in absence of psychological well being. Therefore, in a broader sense, complete health is a function of social, economic and environmental relationship," observe the organisers of the conference while stressing the need for recognition that national indicators of well-being are important for informing policy debates and for evaluating practices.

The topics of the conference are diverse such as professionals profess of psychology; psychology of poverty and powerlessness; economics of happiness; psychological well being beyond GDP; Indian education system and well being; yoga and meditation and many more.

Some health related issues that will be discussed are the health management; counselling psychology; AYUSH and the mind; healing of consciousness; sports science; contemporary mental health; challenges for medical and para-medical forces; criminal and forensic psychology, etc.

In social psychology areas the topics that have included are the psychology of transformation; Indian Education System and well being; Sociological Determinants of Health: generation gap; Bhagvad Geeta and psychotherapy; spirituality and religiosity: ultimate strategy of well being; Buddha philosophy of happiness; post retirement issues; Karma theory; indigenous psychology; emotional intelligence; intersections of mass media and psychology; social exclusion, deprivation and marginalization, etc.
