THE INDIAN Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is bearing in mind to send a man to moon but it is not a priority says Dr Radhakrishnan chairman of it. Chandrayaan-II would be launched in the year 2013, and during that time there was a thinking to send Robot Rover to the moon. With the results of Chandrayaan-II, then there would be a serious thinking of sending man to there in Chandrayaan-III (future moon mission).
He inaugurated the second AP Science Congress on Saturday (November 14) in Tirupathi at Srinivas Auditorium of S V University. ISRO was planning to send satellites weighing 2000 and 4,500 kilos to space besides the building of mini satellites. An indigenous cryogenic engine was being ready and then GSLV-3 could launch satellites of 4,500 kgs.
The ISRO chairman was very confident that an unmanned mission to Mars could be possible by 2030. India stood in the world at number six in space programmes and fourth in critical space technology.
He has accepted the proposal of vice chancellor of having an ISRO centre at SV University for research work.
