Chartered plane carrying football players from Brazil crashes in Colombia
A plane carrying 72 people, including football players from Brazil, has crashed on its approach to the city of Medellin in Colombia.

The chartered plane, flying from Bolivia, was carrying members of the Chapocoense football team, airport officials said.

The plane had left Bolivia and was on its way to Medellin's International airport. Presently, the reports are unclear, but some reports say there are survivors. Its been said that the plane might have crashed because of lack of fuel, around 10.15 pm local time, in a mountainous area outside the city.

Medellin's Mayor Federico Gutierrez said that it is possible that there are survivors. As per a report by telegraph.co.uk. He said, "It's a tragedy of huge proportions."

He also said that ambulances and rescuers were on their way, and it is not clear what caused the crash.

Local media reports said among the passengers were members of a club soccer team scheduled to play Copa Sudamerica finals on Wednesday in Medellin. The final has now been suspended.
