MUMBAI BORN Aamir Dalvi is a well known face in Tollywood. He started his career in 1999 with DD’s popular show ‘Nyaya’ and is no stranger to viewers now. He has acted in serials like Jeevan Saathi, Saathi Re, Jab Love Hua, Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar and Mein Aisi Kyun Hoon (Sahara One). On his way to Manali, we caught up with the dashing Aamir Dalvi in a brief stopover at Chandigarh. Excerpts from the chat:
Is this is your first serial with Sahara One and Rajshri banner? No, I have worked with Sahara One earlier but this is my first serial with Rajshri productions. I am essaying a meaty role of Jeet Khanna, a ‘tapori’ of Mumbai who lives in a chawl.
Your look in the show is different. What was the reaction from friends? My friends were really happy that I was working in ‘Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki’ and playing a different character. Everyone is excited and there is a very positive buzz about the show. What made you take up the role? Jeet Khanna! The character of Jeet Khanna that I have got to portray has various shades and real life emotions which make it challenging for an actor. To get to essay such a vibrant character is any actor’s dream. Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki is a TRP grosser for Sahara One and is one of the best family serials on television currently on air. Any memorable moment on the set? Laughs! Every moment. Its fun on the set. The entire unit is like a family. Rajshri is know for their hospitality. All my co-actors are wonderful people. I have developed an emotional bonding with the complete unit. Every moment of my association with this serial is memorable. Your upcoming TV assignments? Right now am concentrating on just one serial at present and anticipating viewers’ response to it. I believe in quality not quantity. Your hobbies? I am an ardent roadie and love riding bikes, I own a 250 cc Honda dirt mobike.
