Chennai Express trailer making a lot of noise
The film Chennai Express had been making its fair share of pre-release noise, and now after the release of its trailer people are getting all the more intrigued. The most important aspect that would hit everyone once they watch the trailer is that it is an out and out Rohit Shetty film with masala entertainment - with Deepika Padukone's accent as bonus.

The Rohit Shetty style in the movie is so pronounced that it somehow overshadows the fact that Shahrukh Khan is in the film - although all SRK fan will deny this. The lungi-clad villains with their weapons, picturesque Southern India and the cars flying about, crashing and bursting into fire - all of it is present in Chennai Express.

Cocktail is a film where Deepika Padukone actually showed her acting prowess. Although Chennai Express is a hero centric film (as is evident from the trailer and as Rohit Shetty has proved from his previous films), Padukone would be closely watched for her accent. Inspite of not being a Tamilian, she seemed to have nailed all the 'h' in Chennai and other typical language accent.

Most people are assuming that since the name is Chennai Express, it is another film which would stereotype South Indians and laugh about it. Dissuading the same SRK in the release of the trailer said that such is not the case and it is about a North Indian guy, who is a misfit in his South Indian environment. After the release of the trailer, now people cannot wait for the songs to be released. They are already booking their dates for August 8, when the film will release.

A small clash was happening with Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaraa being relased on the same date but Jeetendra sorted things out with SRK and deciding to release his film on August 15. Talking about it, Shahrukh Khan told ndtv, “Keeping in mind that both weekends (Aug 8 and Aug 15) are good times for film releases, Jeetendra sir being the senior most showed the path. He took the decision to move OUATIM Dobara to August 15. This is extremely graceful of him. UTV, Rohit and I are very happy with the decision made and we thank Jeetu sir and Balaji for the same. This should pave the way for such mature and sensible amicable understandings whenever two films release on the same day in future too.
