Chennai to host workshop on "Role-playing in Storytelling"
Chennai-based World Storytelling Institute is going to organise a three-session workshop shortly on "Role-playing in Storytelling", informed the director of the Institute Dr. Eric Miller saying that the Workshop would be held with two-hour sessions spread over three consecutive Wednesdays.

According to the organizers of the workshop, storytelling is a form of public speaking that often involves a special type of acting in which the story teller acts out various characters.

"The workshop would focus on discovering and/or creating characters from within one's self - within one's personality, one's unconscious - as well as on working with favourite characters from grandmother stories, history, etc," stated Miller saying that the workshop will involve both story composition and acting out the characters.

He added that the participants would be trained in voice modulation and body language to express the characters and stories would be woven around the characters.

He clarified that the aim of the workshop would be to develop the creative and expressive abilities of the participants and not to do therapy.
