'Chhello Divas', an urban Gujarati movie that aims to put Gujarati films at par with Bollywood
Belvedere Films has officially announced their first Gujarati movie, 'Chhello Divas - A New Beginning'. Chhello Divas is scheduled to be released in the month of October across 100 screens in Gujarat and 15 in Mumbai.
Directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, the movie revolves around the lives of eight friends, showcasing their journey of growing up, highs and lows of their relationship, love and compassion, end of college days and beginning of a new life.

The launch event was attended by the leading cast of Chhello Divas - Yash Soni, Malhar Thakar, Kinjal Rajpariya and Janki Bodiwala along with director Krishnadev Yagnik and creative producer Vaishal Shah. Yash, Malhar and Kinjal have bags of experience working in Gujarati movies, TV series, Drama as well as Bollywood, while Janki who has received many beauty awards is a debutant.

To leave a lasting impact on the audience, Belvedere Films have managed to get some of the best talent in the industry as their lead cast as well as music artists like Prithvi Gohil, Jeffrey Iqbal and Meghdhanush band have been a part of this revolution in Gujarati film industry.

Talking about the film, Director Krishnadev Yagnik said, "It has been a wonderful experience making this film alongside my childhood friend Vaishal Shah. The film has revived the exciting memories of our college days as we have made every effort to ensure that this urban Gujarati movie not only entertains the youth but also give grownups a chance to relive their college days."

The film also aims to bridge the gap between regional movies and Bollywood by using the best technology and sets. The camera used to shoot the movie, Epic X Red Dragon, is considered the best in the industry to produce the highest standard of picture quality. But, due to the expense attached it is only the fourth time that such camera is used in India, following Bhaag Milka Bhaag, Kick and PK.

Krishnadev Yagnik added, "We strongly believe that the modern setting, urban theme and high-end technology will help change the passive perception towards Gujarati movie and draw attention of larger audience."

Creative producer, Vaishal Shah revealed, "Chhello Divas is a quirky take on youngsters and it summarizes the journey of growing up. Audience will be able to easily connect to the film through one or the other cast as all the eight characters in the film are very different from each other. We have kept the larger audience in mind in order to take Gujarati movies to the next level. But without the support and belief of our producers Ayush Mehta, Nilay Chotai, Pranay Kabra, Sandil Dang and Sharad Patel, we would not have been able to use the best technology to deliver best picture quality."

The movie is primarily shot in Ahmedabad and have used some of the best locations in the city like Sabarmati riverfront. Music for the movie has been composed by Harsh Trivedi who is considered one of the leading composers in the Gujarati film industry.
