Chicago Auto Show 2010: Concept cars and charity drives
The Chicago auto show was not only for those with a license but to attract school going kinds and group discounts were awarded. With nearly 1000 vehicles on the show floor, there's plenty to see for the car geek.

FOR THOSE who live life not only on the fast lane but do it with panache Chicago Auto show turned out be a haven. The 2010 auto show at Chicago was the buyers as well as the seekers. From alternative fuel vehicles to concept cars from Family sedans to SUVs and sports cars all was there.

The nations biggest auto show was not only for those with a license but to attract school going kinds and group discounts were awarded. With nearly 1000 vehicles on the show floor, there's plenty to see for the car geek.

One of the most entertaining, hands-on attractions at the Chicago Auto Show can be found at the Jeep exhibit. The Jeep test track allows you to ride in one of its vehicles with a professional driver over uneven, slanted surfaces and a steep hill. The drive demonstrates the maneuverability, traction control and other features of the Jeep line. Several hosts from Mercedes Benz gave inquisitive onlookers the knowledge and advice that they seeked about the car.

With talent contest and live entertainment playing the most famous numbers the show was a success.

Along with deals the Chicago Auto show took a humanitarian route as it raised $1.7 million. About 7,200 people attended First Look for Charity, helping to raise $1,701,012. The event is held the evening before the annual auto show opens its 10-day public run.

During the show people took a look around at some of the concept cars at the Show, with some feeling like they are staring into the futuristic: Jetsons. While the cars on display cannot fly, they definitely have a futuristic look and feel.
